Autumn Forest Micro Wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park

Featured on AdventureWed Mag

When Jack and Gina were planning their wedding, they felt no joy about doing it in the U.K., where they're from. Once they started looking into getting married in Colorado, it felt like everything clicked into place. They decided to have their ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park, and gave themselves a year and a half to plan the rest of the experience.

They and their 18 guests all stayed at the Fall River Lodge, a chateau in Estes Park owned by an antiques collector and filled to the brim with beautiful vintage furnishings. They began their wedding day by getting ready on separate floors of the chateau, and then Jack and the guests headed to Rocky Mountain National Park. Jack and Gina had a beautifully heartfelt ceremony at Hidden Valley, and then we celebrated with a picnic and a few group photos. The guests headed back to the chateau for the reception while the couple and I took our time with portraits in the park.

Once we arrived back at Fall River Lodge, Jack and Gina made their grand entrance, mingled with their friends and family, then had a beautiful first dance on the river behind the chateau. As the sun set, their guests gave speeches on the back patio, and then we headed inside for dinner, catered by a local tacos restaurant!

Being wedding photographers themselves, Jack and Gina had a high standard for their wedding photos and I was honored to be not just their chosen photographer, but their friend and ally in the international planning process. Their gallery was photographed on digital and 35mm, 120, and polaroid film.
