Utah Film elopement Photographer

film and digital photographer for utah elopements, including moab, zion, bryce canyon, and canyonlands.

It’s your dream to elope in Utah:

Windswept ceremonies on the canyon rim at Dead Horse Point. Stargazed evenings from your desert yurt in Kanab. Sunrise river hikes in Moab. Loved ones' faces lining candlelit tables at your favorite restaurant near Zion.

Here's where you're stuck -
  1. You don't know where amidst Utah’s incredible canyons, plateaus, and desert landscapes you want to elope.

  2. You don't know when the best weeks to elope are, and which beaches are best for which seasons.

  3. You don't actually know how to get legally married in Utah (something about a county clerk and two witnesses??)

  4. You may be the first in your circle to have a micro wedding or elopement, which means...

You need as much help as you can get.
““From the first time we spoke, Ayla was so helpful and knowledgable.”

“She helped guide us through the entire wedding process and made our planning experience truly stress-free. It felt like every concern was resolved before we could even begin to get stressed about them.”

“We truly could not have asked for a more thoughtful, talented, and kind person to capture our day.”

– Gabby and Zach
Other elopement photography sites are filled with things like:

"Your wedding, your way!"
"Non-traditional weddings for adventurous couples"
"You don't need a 200 person wedding to get married."

And you’re like,
“Amazing! But seriously... how do we do this??”

you already know the intimacy, relaxed energy, and sun-baked desert views of a Utah elopement is for you.

Now you need someone who can help you make it happen.

I'm Ayla – not just a photographer, but your guide to your dream elopement.

What you get working with me, besides fun, beautiful photos:

Film Photography

The rich red earth, blue skies, and golden Utah sunshine render so beautifully on film. You can expect about 20-40% of your final gallery to be on 35mm, medium format, and/or polaroid film. My digital work is hand-edited with film emulation profiles for the full hybrid experience.

Location and permit guidance

I've spent years road-tripping the canyon country, and I know the difference between a Zion permit in peak season versus a quiet October morning in Goblin Valley. You’ll receive experienced and well-researched location recommendations tailored to your vision and planning constraints, plus assistance applying for any necessary permits.

Elopement planning assistance

Along with expert logistics guidance, timeline creation, an elopement planning guide, and local recommendations, I also offer brainstorming calls where we can walk through your ideas and concerns together. While I don’t book things for you or communicate on your behalf the way a traditional wedding planner does, think of me as an expert you can go to for advice when you feel stuck or overwhelmed.

Local Recommendations

I use my vast industry networks to help you source your elopement vendors. If I’ve been to your elopement location before, I also love to share what I’ve loved in the area for dining, hiking, and things to do!

Inclusive Pricing

Your dream of a Moab wedding in the fall can quickly become an avalanche of nickels and dimes from vendor upsells and travel fees from Portland. My pricing is all-inclusive, and the very few add-ons you may choose are discounted as a thank you. Full Oregon travel, lodging, guidance, and film is included in one flat rate.

Quick photo turnaround times

When you choose to elope, (especially if you’re coming into Utah from out of state), a lot of folks you know and love may not be there — aunts, uncles, cousins, high school friends, college friends, elderly grandparents, etc. I turn around your sneak peeks around in 24-48 hours and your final gallery in one month to make sure you can share your elopement with the folks you love, even if they weren’t able to be with you on the day.
