colorado film elopement photographer
film and digital photographer for colorado elopements, including crested butte, ouray, telluride, aspen, and rocky mountain national park.
It’s your dream to elope in Colorado:
Wildflower-studded ceremonies in Crested Butte. Cozy cabin mornings in Breckenridge. Sunrise hikes in the Rocky Mountain wilderness. Loved ones' faces lining candlelit tables at your favorite restaurant in Telluride.
Here's where you're stuck - You don't know where amidst Colorado’s alpine lakes, mountain meadows, rolling deserts, and thick pine forests you want to elope.
You don't know when the best weeks to elope are, and what may be closed seasonally.
You don't actually know how to get legally married in Colorado (something about a county clerk and self-solemnization?)
You may be the first in your circle to have a micro wedding or elopement, which means...
You need as much help as you can get.
“From the first time we spoke, Ayla was so helpful and knowledgable.”“She helped guide us through the entire wedding process and made our planning experience truly stress-free. It felt like every concern was resolved before we could even begin to get stressed about them.”
“We truly could not have asked for a more thoughtful, talented, and kind person to capture our day.”
– Gabby and ZachOther elopement photography sites are filled with things like "Your wedding, your way!"
"Non-traditional weddings for adventurous couples"
"Skip the 200 person wedding and elope instead!"
And you’re like,
“Amazing! But seriously... how do we do this??”
you already know the freedom, intimacy, and relaxed energy of an elopement in Colorado is for you.
Now you need someone who can help you make it happen.I'm Ayla – not just a photographer, but your guide to your dream elopement.
What you get working with me, besides fun, beautiful photos:
Film Photography
The blue mountains, rich green forests, and golden Colorado sunshine render so beautifully on film. You can expect about 20-40% of your final gallery to be on 35mm, medium format, and/or polaroid film. My digital work is hand-edited with film emulation profiles for the full hybrid experience.
Location and permit guidance
I was born and raised in Colorado and have spent years hiking Breckenridge, camping in Crested Butte, and exploring the winding mountain passes in the San Juans. You’ll receive experienced and well-researched location recommendations tailored to your vision and planning constraints, plus assistance applying for any necessary permits.
Elopement planning assistance
Along with expert logistics guidance, timeline creation, an elopement planning guide, and local recommendations, I also offer brainstorming calls where we can walk through your ideas and concerns together. While I don’t book things for you or communicate on your behalf the way a traditional wedding planner does, think of me as an expert you can go to for advice when you feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Local Recommendations
I use my vast industry networks to help you source your elopement vendors (as near to your elopement location as I can, though plenty of vendors travel from Denver). I also love to share what I’ve loved in the area for dining, hiking, and things to do!
Inclusive Pricing
Your dream of a Ouray micro wedding during peak fall colors can quickly become an avalanche of nickels and dimes from vendor upsells and travel fees from Denver. My pricing is all-inclusive, and the very few add-ons you may choose are discounted as a thank you. Full Colorado travel, lodging, guidance, and film is included in one flat rate.
Quick photo turnaround times
When you chose to elope rather than have a big local wedding (especially if you’re coming into Colorado from out of state), that meant a lot of folks you know and love may not be there — aunts, uncles, cousins, high school friends, college friends, elderly grandparents, etc. I turn around your sneak peeks around in 24-48 hours and your final gallery in one month to make sure you can share your elopement with the folks you love, even if they weren’t able to be with you on the day.
